Bush Plane in Wells Gray 22in x 30in Watercolour On Paper
Olya Wright is a classically trained visual artist. She paints at her studio and among the urban and rural landscapes where she finds subject matter and inspiration, locally and while travelling. Olya works in watercolour, oil, and graphics and is dedicated to continually developing her technique.
The focus of her watercolour works are emphasizing the transparency and brightness of the paint itself. Olya's paintings display a mixture of planning, interpretation, detail and the unpredictable nature inherent in watercolour. Her portfolio, including many portraits, animals, and landscapes, is primarily realistic work, often with a contemporary edge. Olya strives to identify key focal points in the subject matter of her paintings.
Before Olya pursued painting full-time, she worked as an interior designer and in furniture design, which helped hone the creativity and the technical skills from her university studies.
Olya’s paintings and commissions are represented in private collections in Canada, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, France, and Mexico. She is pleased and honoured to be among the artists participating in the 2017 Crossing Boundaries Exhibition.
