Prairie Plaid 12in x 36in Acrylic On Canvas
Kit Bell, AFCA
Born in Vancouver, BC, Kit Bell attended the University of British Columbia, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in 1974. Throughout her life, she always sketched and painted, and although her professional career took her into the world of computers, art always remained a strong interest.
Kit moved to Ottawa, Ontario after graduating from UBC where she began to paint the local landscape in oils. She took the opportunity to study at the Ottawa School of Art and exhibited her work at galleries and art fairs for several years.
Returning to BC in 1992, Kit settled in Kelowna. Primarily a landscape painter, she seeks to record the transient effects of light and the seasons on the landscape. Kit wants to share what her trained artist’s eye, and imagination, sees with others. Working in a variety of media allows her to choose the best process for an image.
Kit Bell is a Signature Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (AFCA) and a member of the Kelowna Painters Studio Society. She exhibits regularly with the Kelowna Painters Studio Group and at national and local Federation of Canadian Artists shows. Her paintings are in private and corporate collections in Canada and around the world.
