Robin Timms was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan and has lived in North Vancouver, British Columbia for the past 18 years. In 2015, she obtained an advanced painting certificate at Emily Carr University of Art and Design and is now dedicated to painting full-time.
Robin’s work explores the psychology and language of colour, shape, line and form through the creation of individual colour stories within each contemporary landscape that she paints. Certain colours attain superiority. Colours can also deceive. Every viewer perceives the truth of colour differently. She terms these stories “Colour Hieroglyphics”.
Robin is an Active Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists [FCA] and Artists in Canada. In addition to the “Crossing Boundaries” exhibition, her other FCA exhibitions this year include; “Canvas Unbound”, their 2017 “Abstract Exhibition” and “Landscapes “. In 2015, she was awarded an FCA Honourable Mention in the exhibition “Scenes from Western Canada”. In January her work was displayed in the Emerging Artists exhibition, “Balance” at the Seymour Art Gallery”. In June, she will participate in the exhibition, “Oh Canada” at the Ferry Building Gallery in West Vancouver to celebrate Canada’s 150+ birthday.
