Set to Run 30in x 22in Watercolour
Michelle Leavitt-Djonlic is a watercolourist who paints in a social-realist style. Growing up as a child in rural New Brunswick gave her the opportunity to apply her attention to the details of early compositions with few distractions, allowing her to develop her skills as a painter.
Attending the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University, Halifax, Michelle received a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Associates in Graphic Design. An exchange to the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York exposed her to fashion illustration, unique drawing and design opportunities.
In 1996, she began her watercolour career in Vancouver, British Columbia. Leaving to settle in Edmonton, Alberta in 2001, where she has resided for 16 years, she paints daily from her 1926 home-based studio. In 2006, she became a member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour. Currently Michelle shows and sells her work nationally and abroad.
