Return of the Bison 18in x 36in Acrylic On Canvas
Born in Ontario, Cynthia now makes her home in Salmon Arm, BC amongst the picturesque landscapes which inspire many of her paintings. Acrylic paint on canvas has been her choice of medium allowing her to build texture and use bright colours. Her style has been described as “painting life” as she paints the BC landscapes and Canyons from her many travel and adven- tures. She began her painting career in 2011 after a trip to Italy for a 10 day art course and has evolved as a developing and growing artist which each piece mastered. She continues to study from her peers and through exploration with brush and paint. This has truly become a passion for her.
Cynthia has been a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists since 2014 and the Society of Canadian Artists. Her work has been included in many juried exhibitions and international publi- cations and found in private collections in North America as well as local art galleries and com- mercial businesses. A full collection of work can be found on her website cynthialangford.com.
Cynthia takes personal pride in this piece “Return of the Bison” in reflection of her aboriginal heritage and ancestry and Canada’s 150th Birthday. The bison were the soul and life for the na- tive people in the early days and the return of the bison to the Banff National Park this spring to rebuild the population and growth of these magnificent animals was so inspiring and meaning full to her.
